  • A valid, in-date, government-issued driver's license held for a minimum of 2 years
  • Photographic ID (photocard licence or passport/identity card)
  • Proof of address – Document dated within 3 months prior to when your rental is due to commence. If you have just moved to the address, a Tenancy agreement or solicitor’s correspondence is acceptable.
  • Proof of return travel and accommodation information may be needed for international visitors. 
  • A debit or credit card in the driver’s name for rental cost and security deposit if you do not reduce your excess

Yes, we welcome hirers from most countries in the world. Depending on the country of origin, particularly those outside the EU, you may be required to provide an International Driving Permit along with the licence. Additional fees may apply, subject to Insurance qualification.

You have to be at least 25 years and below 75 years of age to hire a vehicle with Currie Motors. If you fall outside of this age group we may still be able to insure you subject to insurance qualification (additional fees may apply).

Yes, prices quoted are inclusive of VAT and Insurance referred to as Collision Damage Waiver (CDW).

Insurance comes with an Excess, which is your liability in the event of accident/claim. You would have the opportunity (subject to qualification) to reduce your excess by taking Excess Reduction. The terms for this will be explained to you when the booking is confirmed.
 

Yes, you are welcome to add as many drivers as required (Additional charges apply).

Yes, our vehicles can be taken out of mainland UK. When you take out our European cover package, we provide full insurance with Greencard and our written consent to drive abroad. International breakdown cover/ roadside assistance is also included.

Generally, we do not charge a cancellation fee as we understand things can change that are out of your control. All we ask is that you let us know at the earliest opportunity so that other customers have the change to rent the vehicle we have held for you.

At certain peak times of the year, we may take a deposit against your rental on premium vehicles (like MPVs) which would be non-refundable if you cancelled within 5 day prior to the start of your rental.  

There are breakdown assistance numbers inside the car, either on the top left of the windscreen, or in the glovebox. A representative will point these out to you when you collect the car.

If you have an accident in the vehicle, you will need to report the incident to us at the earliest opportunity, by telephone on +44 1992 667681 during our opening hours, or email carhire@curriemotors.co.uk

Please make sure to log all details about the accident, including location, time & date and the details of any third parties or witnesses. Take pictures where safe to do so.

Yes, you do not require any additional licence categories to drive any of our vehicles and can be driven on a standard category B driving licence.

We give you a one hour grace period if your running late, thereafter there would be an hourly charge based on your daily rate.

When making the booking, standard CDW insurance is included, this comes with an excess should you damage the vehicle. We would take a preauthorised deposit against your excess which would hold on your card and release after the rental. You would have the option (subject to qualification) to reduce your excess and have a zero deposit option. A member of the team can discuss this with you.

Prices are generally inclusive of VAT, 24 Hour Roadside Assistance and Insurance (CDW) unless instructed otherwise. Standard Insurance would come with an excess in the event of accident or damage and we would take a pre-authorised deposit against your excess.

We are open Monday -Friday 8.30 to 18.00 and Saturdays 9.00 to 12.00.

Unfortunately, we are closed on Sundays and bank holidays.

Unfortunately, we do not allow pick up or drop off of our vehicles outside of our opening hours and you must return the key to one of representatives during operating hours unless instructed otherwise. You will still continue to be liable for the vehicle until the vehicle has been checked in by one of our representatives.
